The Reasonable Suspicion Questionnaire (RSQ™) is a written investigative tool to establish a basis of reasonable suspicion - in compliance with the law. 

Use the RSQ™to investigate employee theft cases involving company property, money, merchandise or confidential information.  The RSQ™ qualifies employees for polygraph examinations under federal law.

How does the RSQ™ work?

All employees who could have committed the theft are asked to complete an RSQ™ in writing.  Their answers qualify themselves - and possibly their co-workers  - to take polygraph examinations in compliance with the federal law known as the Employee Polygraph Protection Act (EPPA).

The RSQ™ is the first step in a process that will reveal the culprit

Employees almost invariably know - or strongly suspect - which of their co-workers committed a theft.  They know because they work with one another day in and day out. 

Innocent suspects will share their knowledge and suspicions on the RSQ™ that they fail to divulge in face-to-face interviews.

Once all the employees' RSQ's are analyzed for reasonable suspicion criteria, polygraph forms are prepared requesting each "reasonable suspect" to take a polygraph examination, starting with the most likely suspect first.

Sometimes perpetrators quit their jobs immediately after completing their RSQ's.  Those who hang around long enough to receive a written request to take a polygraph examination usually refuse and quit on the spot. 

If the culprit does not quit, their guilt is revealed on their polygraph test.  Those employees who are legally qualified for polygraph examinations and fail their tests or refuse to take them can be legally discharged, pursuant to federal law.
