Polygraph tests determine the truth. Also known as lie detector tests, polygraphs measure relative blood pressure changes, pulse rate, heart rate and electrical resistance of the autonomic nervous system - an individual's physiological reactions to specific questions. These reactions cannot be controlled by the individual.
For more than 30 years we provided private polygraph tests for clients in Ohio, Northern Kentucky and Eastern Indiana. Now we are located in the city of Spring Hill, Florida - just north of Tampa.
We help attorneys, employers, law enforcement agencies, and private individuals determine the truth.
Our polygraph tests help resolve questions regarding many issues, including:
- Criminal cases
- Civil cases
- Marital infidelity
- Family problems
- And much more

How Accurate is a Polygraph Examination?
The answer to that question depends on several things and varies from examiner to examiner.
Research studies suggest the best lie detector test results - those yielding 98% accuracy - come from well-trained and experienced polygraph examiners, using an analog device, and numerically scoring the responses given.
That is precisely the equipment and methodology used by Mr. Bassett. More specifically:
- James W. Bassett was trained at the renowned Baxter School of Lie Detection.
- Mr. Bassett has 30+ years' experience doing private polygraph exams.
- Mr. Bassett uses a Lafayette® analog polygraph.
- Mr. Bassett numerically scores every polygraph examination he performs.

A Typical Polygraph Test
Mr. Bassett's polygraph examination procedures typically go as follows:
- First, the individual usually sits down for a private conversation with Mr. Bassett to discuss the situation and circumstances in question. During this conversation, the questions to be used during the polygraph examination are decided upon.
- Next, anyone who accompanied the person is asked to wait outside the testing room while the polygraph test is administered.
- The polygraph test is then administered, using the questions decided upon a few minutes earlier. There are no surprises!
- After completing the polygraph examination, Mr. Bassett numerically scores the polygraph charts to determine the results - whether deception was indicated or not.
- Lastly, the individual is presented with the results of his/her polygraph examination.
The whole process, from start to finish, typically takes from 1-1/2 to 2-1/2 hours.
In some circumstances, there may be variations to this process. But this is typically how a polygraph exam is conducted.
Additional Lie Detector Tools
To augment the precision of polygraph testing, Mr. Basset makes use of a series of customized questionnaires focusing on specific area of investigation. These include questionnaires for:
- Crime Questionnaire™ - a highly accurate criminal truth test. Based upon research conducted between 1993-94, the Crime Questionnaire™ predicts polygraph test results with an accuracy of 84-89%. The Crime Questionnaire™, when used in conjunction with the analog polygraph instrument, produces accuracy rates approaching 100%.
- Infidelity Questionnaire™ - used to determine the faithfulness of one's spouse or lover
- Shortage Questionnaire™ - for ongoing shortages of cash and/or merchandise, the SQ™ helps you find out which employee is stealing.
- Specific Loss Questionnaire™ - determines which employee is responsible for stealing a specific item.
- VAQ™ Pre-employment Test - finds out who will make a trustworthy employee.
